Spots with large amounts of ranged foes?
So I made a nifty little build that requires 2 people, and it works amazingly, but only against ranged foes.
Right now, I only have one spot off the top of my head that is easy to access and has a lot of ranged foes (Necros/Monks in particular)
I'll gladly post the build shortly, I just want to try it in a few different places.
The build isn't special in any way, pretty simple, straightforward, and easy to use with no creativity!
Thanks in advance

Depends on the area :P. City it works very well. Gloom pretty decently too. Veil it fails hardcore and Foundry it fails until final room, then it rapes face.

Ranger foes i can think of thats easy reach - ice imps and golems outside olafstead , snowmen lair , arachnids in nf ( plains of jarin and zehlun fastfoot ( unsure spelling ) , ice imps and golems outside droks ( i solo farm these on ranger easily ) but thats just about all i can think of - they tend to stay ranged where some others like hydras have pbaoe which i avoid... on yea forgot fire imps outside la and if adventerous try ice imps in mineral springs.Tusked howlers in nf as well - almost forgot them.

Rata Sum southern exit "Magus Stones" I think go left as you exit then head south you should run into 6 mobs of spiders all ranged attacks.
At the end of the run there are a couple of other mobs of mixed range/melee that can easily be avoided.
go through the gate and come back through the spider mobs till your bored.

ranged foes -- for my solo ranger farms I like to farm the dragon moss HM outside st. anjeka's shrine, and the fow forest is fun for old-time's sake. I've tried the mantids in naphui but typically only get one big group with stragglers leftover (using r/a w/d-conflagration build), too hard to get them all bunched up imo fire imps outside LA in HM is hellaeasy with r/rt VwK build

right man, but they are not easy to farm due to Savage Shot, u you need a build like the Labyrint Tank in UW with mantra of resolve to stay alive

The mantids are actually really easy to ball up as that is where I originally did most my testing when I made the whirling sf ranger build that and the dragon moss.

i find the dragon moss easier as r/e using a bow....i volley/barrage with bua and ebsh for extra hmmphf. just before a big mob dies, i kill them one by one by tabbing the low bars, I find the drops better that way than when they die in big bunches. the run is still only 2 min, so not too bad

u're right...drop rate is affected by killing speed...i farm dragon moss with sliver armor + ebon stendard and they drop little better then using whirling defense..

Whirling defense is super powerful in DoA, that's the main reason why it's used in record runs.. But that's all I can say
Only place it blows is Veil, because of them damn touchy skills.. And the golems's Ench removal.
I've used it in gloom, when practicing big ball outside of the cave, instead of taking necrotic, I take whirling, because I'm practicing anyway, don't need necrotic, and might aswell kill shit for gems if i'm popping cons and, if you succeed big ball, you can go do rift and get some drops there too^^

In DoA whirling defense is very useful for gloom. You could probably do a R/A build with deadly paradox and whirling, and complete it in HM in 20min or so using a hero for safety.
